Sandoval Sensei is 4th degree black belt, Chief Instructor of Hayward Martial Arts. This is a title and rank recognized through the IAF (International Aikido Federation) by Hombu Dojo, headquarterd in Japan. Also recognized by the North American Birankai Aikido Association. Certification recieved in 2001 after many years of dedication to Aikido. He began his Aikido training in 1989 with I. Shibata Sensei 7th degree black belt, Master Teacher and was a Kenshusei (direct apprentice for teacher certification). Sandoval Sensei has trained extensively in USAF (United States Aikido Federation) while it was under the direction of T. K. Chiba Sensei Shihan (8th Dan).
Sandoval Sensei is known for his effective and practical Aikido. He has over 20 years of training, and has taught Aikido to children and adults. He has successfully guided many of his students to black belt rank. In his classes, he will start you on the basics, building a solid foundation and tempering your mind, body and spirit through Aikido techniques. You will learn open handed and weapons self-defense fundamentals, and develop your awareness to become a proficient Martial Artist.
Hayward Martial Arts is Sandoval Sensei's second Martial Arts school. Sandoval Sensei is proud to bring Aikido to Hayward and the East Bay. Between 1998 and 2004, he owned, operated and was the chief instructor of Marin Aikikai School.
